Intended Game: Deer and smaller
Bullet Featured: .357 125 gr. Sierra JSP or Hornady XTP
Muzzle Velocity: 1850 fps; Blackhawk / 7.5” bbl
Effective Range: 100 yards +/-
Comment: As the primary load for this cartridge, it features relatively low recoil and high accuracy.

Intended Game: Deer and smaller

Comment: Same as above, except w/ lower pressures, is safe in S&W revolvers. Safe in Smith and Wesson revolvers.

Effective Range: 100 yards +/-
Comment: With a heavier bullet this load provides more knock-down and is more effective on larger game. It can be used in shorter barreled revolvers as a back up gun in most of the lower 48.

Intended Game: Deer, medium sized hogs

Muzzle Velocity: 1860 fps; Contender barrel, 9”
Effective Range: 200 yards +/-
Comment: This load is excellent in a Contender set up with a 4x scope. It is very accurate and has very little recoil.

Intended Game: Deer, elk, hogs

Muzzle Velocity: 2200 fps; 12” Encore barrel
Effective Range: 150 yards +/-
Comment: This cartridge was originally designed for the Encore but is now available in revolvers. It reaches its true potential on this platform and is deadly accurate with modest recoil.

Intended Game: Deer, medium sized hogs
Bullet Featured: .376 230 gr. FNGC
Muzzle Velocity: 2200 fps; 12” Encore barrel
Effective Range: 150 yards +/-
Comment: Same as above but with a gas checked LBT style bullet.

Intended Game: Deer, hogs, cow elk

Muzzle Velocity: 1700 fps; Blackhawk / 7.5” bbl
Effective Range: 150 yards +/-
Comment: This is the primary load for this cartridge and is highly accurate with modest recoil. Hundreds of game animals have been taken with this load.

Intended Game: Deer, hogs

Muzzle Velocity: 1580 fps; Blackhawk / 7.5” bbl
Effective Range: 150 yards +/-
Comment: Same as above, except w/ lower pressures, is safe in S&W revolvers. Safe in Smith and Wesson revolvers.

Comment: Heavier bullet provides more knock down. Good in short barreled revolvers for back-up in most of the US.

Comment: Excellent all-around game getter. It produces modest recoil, superb accuracy, and is Contender safe.

Comment: This is cartridge was primarily for deer hunters who didn’t want to use the larger 255 WFNGC bullet.

Effective Range: 250 yards +/-
Comment: This load is suitable for all but the largest of game encountered in the lower 48.

Effective Range: 200 yards +/-
Comment: This is the primary load for this cartridge. It has plenty of power for large, mean, game, and, works well in an Encore or Revolver. In a revolver it makes an excellent back-up gun.

Muzzle Velocity: 1800 fps; 8” Encore barrel
Effective Range: 200 yards +/-
Comment: This is the primary load for this cartridge and is extremely accurate without the nasty recoil. It works equally well in an Encore, revolver, or, lever gun. 

Intended Game: Deer, hogs, elk, bear
Bullet Featured: .430 265 gr. WFNGC
Muzzle Velocity: 1850 fps; 8” Encore barrel
Effective Range: 200 yards +/-
Comment: We developed this for use in a lever gun but it works as well in a revolver or encore too. The larger bullet is better suited for larger game. 

Intended Game: Deer, hogs, elk, bear

Muzzle Velocity: 1750 fps; 8” Encore barrel
Effective Range: 200 yards +/-
Comment: This load works well in a revolver or encore but is too long and heavy to feed reliably in lever guns. Recoil is manageable and it’s extremely accurate. Take larger game with confidence using this cartridge.

Intended Game: Deer, big hogs, elk
Bullet Featured: .452 300 gr. LFNGC
Muzzle Velocity: 1500 fps; Blackhawk / 6” bbl
Effective Range: 100 yards +/-
Comment: Good in either an Encore or a Reeder custom 5 shot revolver it has plenty of power for large, mean, game. In a revolver it makes an excellent back-up gun in bear country.

Intended Game: Large Deer & hogs, elk, bear
Bullet Featured: .458 405 gr. JSP
Muzzle Velocity: 1500 fps; 12” Encore barrel
Effective Range: 200 yards +/-
Comment: This cartridge replicates a standard 45/70 in a much shorter package. It’s accuracy and lack of recoil will make this a favorite.

Intended Game: Buffalo, big bears, and other nasty critters

Muzzle Velocity: 1100 fps; Blackhawk / 6” bbl
Effective Range: 100 yards +/-
Comment: The short load was developed for people to practice with, but it is still deadly on large nasty critters. This is the load I carry most often.

Intended Game: Hogs, deer, cow elk
Bullet Featured: .511 315 gr. RN GC
Muzzle Velocity: 1000 fps; Blackhawk / 6” bbl
Effective Range: 100 yards +/-
Comment: This load was developed to use mainly for practice in your 510 revolver. But it takes game cleanly up to cow elk size. After shooting 510 350 Longs (or even 350 Shorts) shooting this load will seem like a 22. And it’s accurate too.

Intended Game: Buffalo, big bears, and other nasty critters

Muzzle Velocity: 1350 fps; Blackhawk / 6” bbl
Effective Range: 100 yards +/-
Comment: As the primary load for this cartridge it offers tremendous power, accuracy, and versatility. It can be used in revolvers as a back-up in grizzly bear country or anywhere else that dangerous game dwells. Has been shot through buffalo end-to-end.

Bullet Featured: .511 435 gr. WFNGC
Muzzle Velocity: 1450 fps; 12” Encore barrel w/ brake
Effective Range: 100 yards +/-
Comment: As the max load for this cartridge it’s a handful. Most often used in Encore barrels, it can be used in revolvers..

Intended Game: Varmints, small deer
Bullet Featured: .257 100 gr. Sierra Spitzer or Nosler Ballistic Tip
Muzzle Velocity: 2900 fps; 16” Encore barrel w/ brake
Effective Range: 300 yards +/-
Comment: As the smallest of Gary Reeder’s 405 based cartridges it is a pleasure to shoot and extremely accurate. This would be the primary load.

Intended Game: Deer, elk
Bullet Featured: .308 150 gr. Nosler Accubond
Muzzle Velocity: 2800 fps; 16” Encore barrel w/ brake
Effective Range: 300 yards +/-
Comment: This cartridge nearly equals the 300 win mag without the nasty recoil and works well in an Encore or a Reeder custom rifle. As accurate as any .308 cartridge the recoil is mild in an Encore with a muzzle brake.

Intended Game: Deer, elk

Muzzle Velocity: 2600 fps; 16” Encore barrel w/ brake
Effective Range: 300 yards +/-
Comment: Same as above but with a heavier bullet.

Intended Game: Elk, moose
Bullet Featured: .323 200 gr. Nosler Accubond
Muzzle Velocity: 2550 fps; 15” Encore barrel w/ brake
Effective Range: 300 yards +/-
Comment: As the primary load (or only load) for this cartridge it has become the go-to round of this hunter. It has power, accuracy, and versatility, and, can be used on pretty much anything. It’s a pleasure to shoot in an Encore with a muzzle brake.

Intended Game: Moose, buffalo
Bullet Featured: .375 225 gr. Hornady SP
Muzzle Velocity: 2460 fps; 15” Encore barrel w/ brake
Effective Range: 200 yards +/-
Comment: The most popular of all the GNR wildcats for big game. It’s versatile, accurate, powerful, and has take everything from 20 lb. Red Duikers to Bull Elephant. This loading is not meant for elephant but it will bring down nearly anything else very efficiently.

Intended Game: Buffalo, big bears, large African game
Bullet Featured: .375 260 gr. Nosler Accubond
Muzzle Velocity: 2350 fps; 15” Encore barrel w/ brake
Effective Range: 300 yards +/-
Comment: As the hottest load in the 378 line-up it’s the go-to for most hunters.

Intended Game: Buffalo, big bears, large African game
Bullet Featured: .375 260 gr. Nosler Accubond
Muzzle Velocity: 2200 fps; 15” Encore barrel w/ brake
Effective Range: 200 yards +/-
Comment: This is the original Contender load that has taken hundreds, if not thousands, of game animals in Africa and the US. If you’re going to Africa with a 378 GNR, this would be a great all-around load to hunt with.

Intended Game: Big hogs, bears
Bullet Featured: .430 320 gr. WLNGC
Muzzle Velocity: 2000 fps; 15” Encore barrel w/ brake
Effective Range: 150 yards +/-
Comment: This round also works well in Reeder’s fast handling custom lever guns. It kicks hard on both ends and whatever it hits doesn’t get up.

Comment: This load works well in all modern 44 specials in good working order.

Comment: This modern Keith type load is good in heavy duty S&W 44 specials, Ruger 357 magnum to 44 special conversions, and all 44 magnums.

Intended Game: Deer, hogs
Bullet Featured: .452 265 gr. WLNGC
Muzzle Velocity: 1275 fps; 6” bbl
Effective Range: 50 yards +/-
Comment: Good for packing on your strong, modern revolver.
Not to be used in Colts or Colt clones.

Bullet Featured: .452 300 gr. LFNGC
Muzzle Velocity: 1200 fps; 6” bbl
Effective Range: 50 yards +/-
Comment: Popular for those who want a powerful load for their strong, modern 45 Long Colt Ruger or F.A., or, 454 Casull that doesn’t hurt your wrist when fired.
Not to be used in Colts or Colt clones.

Intended Game: Deer, hogs, elk, bear

Muzzle Velocity: 1500 fps; 10” Dan Wesson revolver
Effective Range: 150 yards +/-
Comment: This is one of our favorite “standard” cartridges. In a Dan Wesson Revolver the recoil is relatively mild and this load is extremely accurate.

Intended Game: Deer, hogs, elk, bear

Effective Range: 150 yards +/-
Comment: Low recoil and excellent accuracy make this a popular choice for most any game in the lower 48.
